VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland is a non-profit government organisation established by law and operating under the auspices of the Finnish Ministry of Employment and the Economy.

VTT is a multi-technological research organisation providing high-end technology solutions and innovation services. From its wide knowledge base, VTT can combine different technologies, create new innovations and a wide range of world-class technologies and applied research services, thus improving its clients’ competitiveness and competence.

VTT’s Vehicles and Electric Powertrains team has gathered deep understanding in battery technology, battery modelling, electric buses, charging infrastructure and energy storage system design and verification.
Tasks in the project
VTT will provide its expertise in storage technologies providing advanced state of the art and supporting pilots’ implementations. VTT is involved in dissemination and communication activities and exploitation plan development.

Core competences
VTT has gained broad-based knowledge on different types of energy storage technologies and their suppliers. VTT can provide up to date knowledge, foresight and experimental research services on different energy storage technologies. Our core competences are energy storage selection, dimensioning, testing, assessment, development, and road-mapping. The backbone for these services are the extensive research facilities which can provide accurate experimental results and knowledge.
